There will be a special mass celebrated by Bishop John Wilson at 7pm on Wednesday 7th December (note new date) to mark the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Salvatorian College. The College will be open from 5.30pm with an exhibition of photographs and memorabilia. All welcome.
The meeting called to enable the architects and planners to present their proposals for the rebuilding of the Salvatorian College has now been rescheduled and will take place on Tuesday 6 December, from 16.30 to 19.30 in the College Gymnasium.
Bishop John Sherrington who is our Area Bishop will be making his visitation of the parish on Sunday 20th November. On that day the Bishop will celebrate some of the masses and preach at them all. There will also be a meeting of parishioners with the Bishop at 16.00 in the Salvatorian College. All welcome.
There will be extra masses at 19.00 on the Feast of All Saints on Tuesday 1st November, which is a Holy Day of Obligation, and another at 19.00 on All Souls Day, Wednesday 2nd November (both with organ and choir).
Please take an envelope from the back of the Church and return it with a list of deceased relatives and friends who you wish to be prayed for during the month of November.
We are delighted to announce that, following a successful audition, Dominic Gilani has been appointed as Organ Scholar at St Joseph's. Dominic is a pupil at St Dominic's Sixth Form College in Harrow and used to attend the Salvatorian College.
He will receive lessons on performance and music theory from Mr Edward Hewes, Organist at Southwark Cathedral (Anglican), and will assist with music at the 11am Solemn Mass at St Joseph's on Sundays.
Please remember Dominic in your prayers as he begins his new role, along with all those at St Joseph's who enhance the liturgy by giving their time and skills.
Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed Afternoon Tea with us, helping to raise an amazing £892! A special thank you to all our helpers for making sandwiches and cakes, for helping to set up and for serving our guests on the day. We also greatly appreciate those who stayed behind and helped with the tidying up at the end of the afternoon. We really couldn't have managed without you!
Take a look at some photos from the afternoon in our Gallery.
